Andy Tubbs
Founder / Lead Designer / Head Content Strategist
Role:
Andy is the founder and owner of Lore of Ancestors. He is also responsible for the site’s content strategy, writing, coding, design, SEO, and marketing. So far, all of the writing, coding, design, tools, and content strategies have been developed and implemented by Andy Tubbs.
He has also worked to improve the site’s performance, achieving an almost-perfect PageSpeed Insights score (as of 4/2/2026).
Background:
Andy has a passion for mythology, folklore, genealogy, and family history. While researching his family history with his father, he became fascinated with the underlying creation stories from cultures around the world. He is part Finnish, English, Welsh, Scottish, Irish, German, and Cherokee.
Ongoing Commitment:
As the founder of Lore of Ancestors, Andy is working to expand the existing content while highlighting obscure, lesser-known mythology, folklore, and cultural beliefs to the public. Through education, others can become more tolerant and interested in cultures across the globe.
We are also working on tools to help our readers explore related content in depth. Our Kalevala Interactive Reader provides access to the complete text of the public-domain version of the Kalevala, with additional filtering features to clearly mark where your favorite figures appear.
